Summer is too short!!

As I am getting older I think I crave warmth and summer even more. I am sorry again that I haven't kept up with this! Our summer consisted of camps, camps and more camps. We had a cooler summer and the kids are now going back to school on Aug 19 (their open day of school which you can see in the latest picure!) Also we planted tomatoe plants this year and will now have a lot of tomatoes-yum!
Ian is now starting football practice on Aug 24 and is so excited to wear the gear and be on the Saints team. I will have to blog pictures of that! Next weekend we are taking the boys tent camping and that should be fun. I have so many great memories of camping when I was growing up and even it my sister had a marshmallow caught in her hair - it made for a lot of memories and that is what we want for OUR kids. I hope Doug's back will stand sleeping in a sleeping bag. This summer the boys were able to see family and it included climbing Black Mountain in Wyoming. Now Ian is totally into hunting and wants to go Elk hunting with his Uncle Chris! Will write later- thanks for checking in!

Ryan said " I own part of that trophy because I helped him practice!!!" The tournament was for our wrestling club:The Gorilla Wrestling Club. Ian heard Ryan and Sarah shout"GO IAN!!!" We are always so proud of our boys....Will write again.

I am sorry that I haven't updated in a month!!! We are AGAIN having a blizzard and now have a record of 93 inches of snow this winter. Ian said today"This is my first snow day of my life" and he is right!!! Fritzy went out this morning and sunk in the snow so far I could not see him. Ian was going to participate in his first wrestling tourney of the year but it was postponed due to the flooding and potential displaced people needing a place to stay. We are still busy with wrestling but Ryan is not going to be in the 3rd session.

I am looking forward to going to Omaha in 3 weeks after a busy Easter weekend and having to work that weekend. We also are going to plan Ryan's 7th birthday for the last weekend of April. I can't believe my baby is now going to be 7 years old...it makes me feel OLD. Will update again soon!!! PS I also had a Lia Sophia jewelry party and was able to get ALOT of nice jewelry.

Happy Lent to all!!!!!!
Ryan is not feeling well tonight- he has kind of a "barking" cough. Both boys were involved with a wrestling camp today for an hour. Then I met them at St. Mary's High School as they were having a Mardi Gras dinner that wes catered by Space Aliens. The choices were a loaded baked patatoe with either BBQ chicken or BBQ pork- they also had chicken strips for kids.YUMMY! That was a good supper!!!!!!!! Ryan did not go to the Gorilla Wrestling practice tonight. I can't believe Lent starts tomorrow. Before you know it the clocks will be turned back, we'll hear the birds singing in the morning and the sun will shine longer. In the meantime we are expecting another storm with up to 4 inches of snow in the next day or so. Doug will be taking the boys to Larimore this weekend and taking each of the boys to a UND hockey game- what a fun experience for them!!!! Don't eat too much on Fat Tuesday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We found out this week that Ian needs braces in about a year. He is subconscious about his smile. He has a peg lateral tooth like Sarah had and it is a small tooth in the front. Sarah had hers shaved down and built up again after she was married. I always hated that little tooth! Ian did get new glasses this past week also and they really look nice on him! New glasses that fit his face makes a difference...
We are having a good week with wrestling and work.
Doug's mom, Carol, called from the Holy Land and should be coming home soon. Sarah's folks are in Vegas this week.
Will write again later!

We had a wonderful day together for Valentines Day!! Doug and I spent a bit of our morning and afternoon at Spa D'Athena eating a nice lunch and having tandem massages. I am actually a bit sore today. When we were done we both were TIRED and ready for naps. We went home and rented a movie instead.
Hope the wrestling pictures work this time!!!

BUSY BUSY BUSY! We have been so busy with wrestling and swimming lessons. We went to the school conferences and Ian knew he got all straight A's- he was so happy with himself. Ryan is described as very social and pokes around. Sarah's mom says"He is just like how you were" He can talk to just about anybody....we are so proud of both of them.
We have had snow all day and it is very wet and now is accumulating. Both boys prayed for a snow dat but they have not gotten it yet. HAPPY VALENTINES DAY

Happy February to all!!

Happy February to all ! We are hoping for spring soon...This is a busy month because we started wrestling for BOTH Ian and Ryan 3 nights a week. Ryan's practice is from 6-7pm and Ian is 7-8pm...WOW! Doug and I feel like a tag team with everything involved with this!! "Tag your it getting the boys ready-" "I am changing my work clothes-tag your it finishing making supper!"
New pictures are coming from wrestling!!!!!
The end of January we were able to go see Doug's folks in Larimore- relaxing time and we finally opened Christmas gifts...
We are now having to also think this month if Ian is getting braces soon. We have an appointment on February 16th to see an orthodontist and he will let us know. Ian does not know what is involved and I am not going to tell him yet. Wish us luck!

Here are some newer pictures from Ian's birthday party swimming, Christmas, etc.
Welcome to our new family blog!!!! Agood friend of mine is teaching me this (thanks Tammi!!) and it will give me a chance updating family and friends in a new way ----
First we have had blizzards, below freezing temps and snow continues. They say we have had 46+ inches of snow so far...
Doug is , needless to say, tired of the snow and has had to unfreeze the snowblower at least twice. Once needed to be done in the house~! He is always busy at the funeral home.
I am busy with work at the hospital and the boys sure keep me busy!
Ian is now 10 years old. He is somewhat more shy than Ryan, is a very good student and is competitive. He started playing the guitar this fall and now is starting the recorder.
Ryan is now 6 years old. His first grade teacher laughs while telling us that Ryan treats life as a "party". He is very outgoing, natural born leader and we should of named him Dennis for Sennis the Menace. In a minute the two boys can be best friends and the next they are enemies. They both are starting wresting in February. Hope you enjoy the pictures and more to come soon!
